En el período comprendido entre el 18 y el 24 de marzo de este año, un total de 24 alumnos y alumnas del IES Celia Viñas ha tenido la oportunidad de realizar una actividad de inmersión lingüística en el Reino Unido, asistiendo a clase de inglés durante todas las mañanas, con profesores nativos.
Después del “Lunch”, siempre se han realizado visitas culturales a la preciosa ciudad de Bath, Patrimonio de la Humanidad. Han visitado The Royal Crescent y the Circus, conjunto de edificaciones del siglo XVIII, rompedores en su estilo arquitectónico y de un belleza y armonía singular. También han realizado una visita a The Roman Baths, donde la influencia de la Roma clásica es patente e impresiona ver su estilo en los alejados confines del imperio.
Asimismo, han estado en La abadía de Bath, el puente Pulteney , el museo de la moda, dónde el alumnado tuvo la ocasión de vestirse con vestidos de la época, la Gallería de Arte y visitas continuadas y muy bien explicadas a la ciudad donde vivió una de las mejores novelistas británicas del siglo 18, Jane Austen.
Al atardecer se regresaba a las viviendas y tomaban la “dinner” con sus familias de acogida. Este ha sido el modo de su alojamiento y un estímulo permanente para mejorar su nivel oral de inglés.
Finalmente, han visitado la ciudad de Oxford, durante todo un día y la ciudad de Wells durante medio día, ambas de gran interés por su fama y belleza.
En opinión del alumnado, el viaje les ha parecido muy satisfactorio, empujándoles a implicarse más en el estudio de la lengua inglesa , la cultura y modo de vida de un país que, en su mayoría, visitaban por primera vez.

From 18th to 24th March 2018, a total of 24 students at Celia Viñas High School had the opportunity to carry out an activity of language immersion in the UK, attending lessons every morning with native teachers.
After lunch there were cultural visits to the beautiful city of Bath, a World Heritage site. They visited The Royal Crescent and The Circus, designed as luxurious buildings in the 18th century, which are ground-breaking in their architectural style and of singular beauty and harmony. They also visited the Roman Baths, where the influence of classical Rome is patent and its style in the far boundaries of the Empire is impressive.
They visited Bath Abbey too, Pulteney bridge , The Fashion Museum where the students had the chance to try on historical garments, The Art Gallery and many other well-explained visits to the city where one of the best novelists of the 18th century, Jane Austen lived.
Finally, they also went on a day trip to Oxford and the city of Wells, both of great interest for their fame and beauty.
In the students’ opinion, the trip was really enjoyable, all of them had a great time and now feel more motivated to learn the English language, its culture and the lifestyle of a country which, most of them, were visiting for the first time
