25 November: Day against Gender Violence

Poster  made by one of our IB students

Next 25 November, a lot of activities will be held in Celia Viñas by the Equality Programme (Programa de Igualdad)  to raise awareness about the dramatic circumstances of those persons who have to suffer mistreatment, harassment and violence. Once more, the bilingual programme wants to collaborate on this day with different activities in their classes.

Some of our groups have prepared digital posters with images and messages related to this subject ,this will be the incentive to make our students talk about it and ,in the following months, they will also make up dialogues reproducing some situations using the red bench (a symbol against gender violence) placed in our school .

All these actions will help to show our refusal against any kind of violence.

HALLOWEEN BODY PERCUSSION.

Halloween is coming and we want to put a rhythm on it. Our 1º and 2º ESO students are practising different spooky songs with body percussion and the help of our assistant, Nick. If you want to practise as well, look at the links.

World Book Day 2021

Next 23rd April, World Book Day will be celebrated in different parts of the world. This date reminds us of the day two great authors , Shakespeare and Cervantes, died  and  calls our attention towards the importance of books in our learning and development.

We have prepared some activities to celebrate this day during this week and the following one like making bookmarks, literature contests, speaking about our favourite titles and … reading (which is always a pleasure).

“Books are the bees which carry the quickening pollen from one to another mind.” James Russell.

We want to thank all the participants for their excellent behaviour following all COVID recommendations due to the collaboration of different departments.

Comic Relief: A Red Nose Day in March 2021

17th March : St Patrick’s Day

This year, it is impossible to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day  as we used to do it, singing and dancing ( like Irish people do ) but we don’t want to forget this important day for those who admire and respect Irish culture.

If you want to know something about this day, you can have  a look at three  presentations (one of them made by Ashley, our American language assistant in  2017-2018 course).

And finally, we can listen to a song by the most famous Irish Band, U2.
