A new course is coming. Lessons, experiences, sport activities, research, group work, etc. A lot of opportunities to learn about different subjects and topics which will expand your knowledge about the world. The process is as relevant as the results so we want to encourage you to make an effort to take advantage of all the new things you will learn during this course.

We hope you have a great academic year!

1 ESO B and C students have been learning about Traditional Instruments in different parts of Spain and have shown their knowledge in projects we can see on our blue board. Even though all the students have participated in this activity, only a selection of some of them is displayed in the main corridor. Instead of the standard classes, students have learnt through more practical and active experiences not only producing these visual projects but also dancing to the rhythm of traditional music.

Going to the cinema is always an experience especially at these times when most teenagers only enjoy watching films on TV sets. 4º ESO students watched the new biopic “Michael” in original version and found out the magic of a film on a big screen and the story of a musical legend.

Explore our collection of famous masterpieces painted by 1º and 3º ESO students in the exhibition they have prepared on the yellow board (main corridor). Involving these students in this artistic activity has facilitated their creativity development mixing fun and learning.

Last Tuesday, 1º ESO students along with their teacher Laura Castaño and other Biology teachers spent a sunny morning drawing plants, flowers and trees in the boulevard (“La Rambla”) near our school. Its purpose is not only an artistic one but mainly an experience to look for details in Nature. We received so much information in our daily basis that is really difficult to focus on particular features and through art, creating these nature journals, students could experiment the joy of discovering our environment and develop their observational skills.

It has been really difficult to select a group of illustrations which stand out from the rest because the quality of most of the works is extremely high.

To celebrate World Book Day, our 2º ESO students took part in a creative and engaging activity: Blackout Poetry. Using pages from old books, students transformed existing texts into unique poetic compositions by carefully selecting words and blacking out the rest.

This activity encouraged them to explore language in a playful and artistic way, discovering how meaning can be reshaped through creativity and imagination. 2 ESO students enjoyed crafting their own visual poems, combining literary expression with artistic design.

2º ESO students wrote their own poems using a simple template and presented them on paper clovers to celebrate this Irish Festivity which is celebrated worldwide.First, each student received a green piece of paper and then they drew and cut out a four-leaf clover shape. .Next, they introduced this poem template:

“One leaf is for fame,
and one leaf is for wealth,
and one is for a faithful lover,
and one is to bring you glorious health.”

The students used this structure to create their own versions, changed some words and added their own ideas while keeping the same pattern. After writing their poems, they carefully wrote each line on one leaf of the clover. Then, they decorated their clovers with drawings (an Irish castle,Leprechaun,etc), patterns, and bright shades of green. Finally,students shared these poems and displayed the clovers on our Bilingual Blue Board.

In the evening classes, the students attended a conference about the history and legends of St. Patrick given by their Mathematics and History teachers, José Luis and Juan Antonio. At the end, they watched “Once”, a film which took them to Dublin.

On St. Valentine’s Day, 1 and 2 ESO students made their own poems and wrote them inside colorful paper hearts.

First, each student received a piece of colored paper in shades like red, pink, and yellow. They carefully cut the paper into heart shapes using templates to help them.

Then, the students wrote short poems. They chose simple topics such as love, friendship, family, and kindness. They used basic vocabulary and tried to express their feelings in a clear way. Many students wrote about their friends or people who are important to them.

After that, they neatly wrote their poems inside the hearts. They also decorated them with drawings, stickers, and bright colors, which made each heart unique.

At the end of the activity, students shared their poems with the class, and we displayed the hearts on our blue board in the main corridor which looked colorful and full of positive messages.

This activity was a great way to practice writing skills, encourage creativity, and celebrate St. Valentine’s Day in a meaningful and fun way.
