Erasmus KA2 Celia Viñas https://iescelia.org/erasmus Mathematics education through sport Thu, 27 Jun 2019 16:50:59 +0000 es-ES hourly 1 https://wordpress.org/?v=4.6.20 https://iescelia.org/erasmus/wp-content/uploads/2016/05/cropped-escudo-con-nombre-celia-32x32.png Erasmus KA2 Celia Viñas https://iescelia.org/erasmus 32 32 Prešov 2019 https://iescelia.org/erasmus/presov-2019/ Thu, 27 Jun 2019 16:49:04 +0000 http://iescelia.org/erasmus/?p=2949 Our last transnational mobility of the «Mathematics through Sports» project was in the city of Prešov in Slovakia where is one of the centres which have collaborated in this project with the centres of Zamość, (Poland) and Daugavpils (Latvia).

The nearest airport to Presov is in Budapest and we took the opportunity to visit the main monuments of the Hungarian capital. The city is divided into two parts by the Danube river, the highest and mountainous part (Buda) and the flattest part (Pest). On a bicycle tour of the city, a guide showed us the features of each part and the many rivers which connect both areas. At night, we saw the beauty of this city on a boat tour of the Danube, where we were impressed by one of the symbols of the city, the Parlament. The imperial past of this city is reflected in its impressive buildings, sculptures and, especially, thermal baths (we visited one of the most emblematic, the thermal bath Széchenyi).

On June 16, we arrived at Prešov by bus and the next day, we started the first day of work at the school Smeralova v Presova with the following program:

  • Analysis and evaluation of mobility activities in Slovakia and Spain
  • Sharing of the information about the activities carried out after the mobilities
  • Presentation of the report on the dissemination of project results
  • Analysis of target success indicators
  • Submission of activities to ensure dissemination and sustainability of the results
  • Preparation of documents for the final report
  • Conclusions and evaluation of the meeting

In the afternoon, we made a guided tour of the city and at night, we had the official dinner with the participants in the meeting and other members of the host center.

On June 18 we visited the Pieniny National Park on a boat trip on the Dunajec River. Later, we visited Lubovna Castle, a distillery and a chocolate factory all within Nestville Park. At the end of the day we had the delivery of diplomas and certificates of attendance of all the participants in this transnational mobility.

The next day, we visited the city of Prešov more closely and went to an exhibition about Warhol (whose parents were Slovaks) in the art museum of the city with the Slovak teachers. In this way , we said goodbye to this beautiful city and our kind hosts and the Latvian and Polish teachers along with those who have enjoyed the realization of our project, in order to keep in touch to carry out activities in the future.

They played sitting volleyball in Plaza Cazard , guessed the name of films using body language in Fuente de los Peces, shot basketballs on Celia Viñas school track from a wheelchair. In Almadrabillas in the columns which are a tribute to the deceased in the Nazi concentration camps there was another activity in which they had to draw using their mouths.
On the fouth day they went to Cala del Cuervo, in Cabo de Gata – Níjar Natural Reserve, in order to make a route from this cove to El Playazo of Rodalquilar, in kayak or snorkeling. As it has been usual in the previous years, IES Celia Viñas carried out its traditional gymkhana, organized by the department of Physical Education and supported by practically all the departments and teachers of the school. This year they have counted with the participation of students and teachers from Poland, Latvia and Slovakia taking part in the Erasmus program. This activity is a timed contest involving speed race, skills, tests or games for teams of students for different points of interest in our city.
The Municipal Archive of Almeria «Adela Alcocer» allowed us to establish one of the test points of the gymkhana in their premises, as they also did last year.
This enabled our students to know the facilities of the archive that many of them ignored.
It should be pointed out the great cooperation of the staff of the Archive who actively participated in the tests.
