Our 2\u00ba ESO students have been reading about all the writers in the exhibition about\u00a0 Spanish women in Literature which took place in Celia Vi\u00f1as and they have summed up\u00a0 facts about some of these relevant women.<\/p>\n

MAR\u00cdA ZAMBRANO<\/p>\n

Mar\u00eda Zambrano (V\u00e9lez , M\u00e1laga 1904 \u2013 Madrid 1991).<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

She got a degree in phylosophy and letters and she got married with Alfonso Rodr\u00edguez Aldave.<\/span><\/span>She went to Chile when the Civil War started. She escaped to different countries and she wrote \u201cLa agon\u00eda de Europa\u201d (in 1945) and \u201cEl hombre y lo divino\u201d (in 1960) among others.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

She came back to Spain in 1984 and four years later, she got the Cervantes Prize (in 1988).<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

SANTA TERESA DE JES\u00daS<\/p>\n

Santa Teresa de Jes\u00fas (\u00c1vila, 1515 \u2013 Alba de Tormes, 1582) wrote \u201cLibro de la Vida\u201d (1562). There, she created a new form of women’s writing. In 1574, she sent to the Inquisiti\u00f3n her last version of her book \u201cLibro de la Vida\u201d to be examined. Writing was a dangerous job at that time.<\/p>\n

Finally, she died on October 4, 1582. Now she is considered doctor of the Catholic Church and she was canonized on March 12, 1622.<\/p>\n

EMILIA PARDO BAZ\u00c1N<\/p>\n

Emilia Pardo Baz\u00e1n (La Coru\u00f1a 1852.Madrid 1921) is a relevant representation of writers of her generation. Her most important works were “La cuesti\u00f3n palpitante” (1883) and “La revoluci\u00f3n y la novela de Rusia” (1889). She also wrote a study about women and she founded “The Woman\u00b4s Library”. She wanted to bring culture to women.<\/p>\n
